Rationale:
During the last decade we have seen major advances
in the field of Teichmuller dynamics, leading to important
applications in algebraic geometry. Theory of quasi-Fuchsian
groups and its generalization, the Higher Teichmuller
theory, which appeared only recently, could benefit from
the same approach. We are planning to look at the
interplay between the theory of Higgs bundles,
hyperbolic dynamics and the geometric group theory
in the context of Teichmuller theory.
